You will leave our training feeling fully equipped, certified, and excited to take on clients. As your instructors we will encourage you to charge a minimum of $1,000 for your doula services, because you WILL be worth it!! No. Doulas are not federal or state licensed professions, which means you can begin working with clients after completing your training.
Most doulas do have certificates to show they have been trained or have completed continuing education. You will leave our training with a certification in hand.Some doulas later choose additional certifications depending on their personal goals, especially if they plan to pursue Medicaid reimbursement in Washington State. This training is designed to give you the practical skills, confidence, and support needed to begin your work right away.

Not at all. Many students come into training with no prior experience — just a strong interest in birth work and supporting families.
This training is intentionally designed to meet you where you are while helping you build confidence, knowledge, and practical skills.

You won’t be left to figure everything out alone.
Students can receive ongoing mentorship, guidance, and are taught how to seek community support as they begin stepping into doula work, navigating clients, and building confidence in their role.

Yes. We discuss the practical side of becoming a doula too — including confidence-building, boundaries, communication, and beginning to build your business and client relationships.

Not necessarily. While birth doula work is a major focus, many of the skills taught in this training support people interested in postpartum work, advocacy, community care, or simply deepening their understanding of the birth space.
