  • Lilac City Doula Training truly exceeded all my expectations, both personally and professionally. From Day 1, I felt supported and guided through every step of the process. The training didn’t just equip me with the technical knowledge I needed to be a skilled doula—it also offered a profound journey of self-discovery.

The curriculum was rich, thorough, and incredibly insightful, blending evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of the physiological, emotional, and spiritual aspects of birth work. I learned not only the practical skills for supporting families through labor, but also how to cultivate deep empathy, presence, and mindfulness in my practice.

What truly set this training apart though was how it transformed me on a personal level. It challenged me to reflect on my own beliefs, boundaries, and growth areas. Through thoughtful exercises and open discussions, I gained a greater sense of self-awareness, which I will now carry into both my doula practice and my everyday life. It was a reminder that being a doula isn’t just about helping others; it’s about continually growing and evolving within yourself.

  • As somebody who considers herself very educated in the birth space, I learned soooo much during this 4 day course. I left feeling the confidence I needed in order to attend births both in the home and the hospital.

  • If you are fortunate enough to be able to attend a doula training with Sarah, Miri, and Traci - don't hesitate, don't think twice, don't question if it's worth it-- it is! I went in as someone who has never birthed and knew very little about pregnancy or childbirth and and it didn't make a difference- they taught in a way that I was still able to learn and stay on a level with others in the class who did have more experience. I went into this training not knowing what to expect, but by the end of day 1 I realized I was in the company of true teachers, not to mention such warm and grounded women.

  • How lucky are we to have an in-person doula and advocacy training of this quality right here in Spokane? For anyone who is on the fence about signing up- do it. Not only did I learn how to be an effective advocate and doula for my clients right off the bat, but it also made me reflect on how I want to show up in life- for myself, my community, and every birthing person on their individual journey. Thank you for a transformational four days!

  • I really loved the doula training! I loved learning from Sarah, Miri and Traci because they each came with their own wisdom, experiences and advice. I have previously trained with another doula organization and I felt like I still learned a lot with this training. I especially found the hands-on practicing of positions, the placenta tour and the advocacy training to be the most helpful for me. I highly recommend this training to anyone who wants to become a doula (or is one and wants to go more in depth, especially in advocacy)! Thank you ❤️

  • Attending the advocacy doula training with Sarah, Miri and Traci has me reflecting on parts of myself that go far beyond birth work. This program centers advocacy in a way most doula programs don’t, and it changes how you show up for your client. Over four full days, the training was dense and immersive. Stepping into this role alongside a group created an immediate sense of community. The space felt safe, supportive, and open. I felt real growth, not just surface level learning.
